Frozen
Made from high quality raw material, both Nile Perch and Tilipia products are exported as frozen products.
Products
- FILLETS:
- Skin on: Yield according to customers' trimming specifications.
- Skinless: Either pin-bone or pin-bone out. The yield varies according to customer trimming specifications.
- Size range: Between 200 grams fillets to "Jumbo" fillets of 3,000 gms for Nile Perch and between 120 gms to 500 gms for Tilapia fillets.
- OTHER PRODUCTS:
- Portions or loins (skinless or skin-on), of different sizes and shapes. This depends on customers' specifications.
- Scaled headed and gutted (H&G).
- Steaks.
- Fillets steaks.
Packaging
- Fillets are individually packed in food grade polyethylene bags and arranged in carton trays of six kilograms or according to customer specifications.
- Portions are either individually packed in food grade polyethylene bags or interleafed using a food grade polyethylene sheet.
Labelling
Strict attention is given to regulatory labelling requirements of both the exporting and importing countries' Competent Authorities.
Freezing Process
Freezing to required temperatures is achieved using a plate freezer, blast freezer, or IQF system depending on customer's instructions. Targeted temperature after freezing is -18 ° C.
Glazing
Products can be glazed according to customer specification.
Storage
Products are stored in cold rooms at below –18 °C before dispatch. Electronic temperature instruments continuously monitor the temperature of the cold rooms.
