The sustainability of the Lake's resources rests not only on responsible fishing practices but also on environmentally sound production. To this effect, Greenfields has conducted a comprehensive environmental audit of its operations and is interacting with Uganda's National Environmental Management Authority and the newly opened "Cleaner Production Centre" to fulfill its pledge of respecting the environment through clean production. Greenfields has also adopted as an absolute priority to safeguard the future of the resources of Lake Victoria. It adamantly excludes processing of immature fish.
